Polyurethane foam for hot and cold pipe insulation


Foamed Insulations can provide pre-insulated pipes or undertake in-situ installation of injected pipe insulation for you.  

Pre-insulated pipes are manufactured with a variety of carrier pipes and external cladding. Carrier pipes can be copper, steel, stainless steel or plastic. Claddings can be HDPE, PVC, Stainless or Spiral Gal.  

For on-site installation, we install an outer casing generally made of aluminium, galvanised steel or stainless steel on ‘spacers’ on the carrier pipe and then use poured (injected) polyurethane foam to efficiently fill the annular space between the pipe and the casing.  

We can also supply Polyurethane Sectional Pipe Insulation (SPI), which can be used for traditional lag and sheath insulation of existing pipework.  

All these methods are suitable for:
  • Pipes carrying low temperature liquids and gases down to -200 degrees C 
  • Pipes carrying high temperature liquids and gases up to 130 degrees C  
We believe polyurethane is the best material for pipe insulation because: 
  • It is quick and highly-efficient to inject or pour into pipe casing.   
  • It provides better thermal insulation against heat and cold than any other commercially-available material.
  • It forms a tight seamless seal against air, liquids and moisture.  
  • It holds its form and won’t deteriorate over time
We believe there is no better alternative to polyurethane foam for pipe insulation.
